Leaves making way for Grind Hockey Weather and Rinks

the legendary 'barn'. Our Saturday morning home. After a bit of a hiatus, for you know, the warm seasons, the leaves are starting to flee their perch atop trees and hit the deck. This also coincides with a ramp up in hockey playing activity. For many of the lucky ones, the hockey playing never ceases all year around. For the extra recreational fun though, the cold weather is a requirement: to make outdoor rinks! Whether on ponds, flooded parks, or officially established outdoor community rinks, getting to play outside makes the cold weather all that more enjoyable (or it’s the only way it is enjoyable for some, period. haha)

Found this video of some hardcore pond hockey enthusiasts in BC who make a whole project and week-long annual adventure out of it. Reminded of some of our escapades to far away pond rinks. It’s a great video, check it out below. Love the ‘Make Hockey Happen’ tagline too. And as Robin remarks, “hope it’s a long, cold winter“.
